Vote on Badgerking's new map additions

Post by badgerking »

Please give me some feedback! Comments in report are running about 70% in favor but the grumblers are loud.

Poll runs for 14 days at which time the voting public's choice will be implemented.

Thanks,
BK

I reckon the New version rocks! :D I love it, I reckon that you came up with really good ideas. I think you should keep it like it is now.

i'm undecided. the new level looks good, but i'm not sure what it does for gameplay. i think this map had such a good balance of buildings/open space that the second level just unbalances that. tanks end up too spread out.....

I have basically said that in the private forum.

Also, You shouldn't base this on just the vote from here, most people will vote for the new level, becuase "it looks cool". But gameplay will suck.

Huh? So when people vote for the best map, they always completely ignore gameplay, even when Badgerking implied to consider that?

What I am saying is that most people won't really consider it, they will read his post and say: "whatever!, *vote*"

let's keep the banter to a low level... only comments on the map, likes/dislikes/fixes should be made, resist the urge to banter about opinions in the open forums

Hi badgerking,

i prefer the version before. The map with 2 levels only works with lots of players.

cheers,

The new map adds new levels of play (and complexity) to an otherwise fine map. I welcome level two. 8)

I really enyoy the gameplay but i hate how is screws up the radar. I also think that there should be less of an a bundunse of wings on the ground level. I dont know what u can do with radar. :|

funny how it's almost exclusively the non-regulars who speak in favor of the changes, whose callsigns i have hardly ever seen on the server.. i believe this poll is not about how well the second level was designed or how cool it looks. please do vote if you are a regular and are really positively or negatively effected by the changes to the gameplay!

my opinions on the first day haven't changed, so i'm c/p'ing: the map was simple with a few cool twists, most playable and fun. now it looks like a lot of other maps where you teleport a lot, engage in long flap-flap-dogfights with wg, can hardly determine who and what is where on the radar, it takes more computer resources, there is less intense fighting etc...

one positive thing is that on the previous map people were complainign a lot about the instant spawn deaths, which have naturally decreased now. but imo that wasn't even an issue.

I voted for the older version, and here's why:

1. I have a slow computer, and the new structures make gameplay a little too jumpy.

2. The new map provides too much space for tanks to occupy. It's harder to find victims.

3. My GM camping spot isn't as good as it used to be.

4. 7 wing flaps is 4 to many, in my opinion ;)

I thought the original version was FFA at it's best. Unless it's broken, why fix it?

Thanks,

iwcy

I agree.
Though I do not have jitter problems, the map seems too huge and open for my comfort.
I, too, thought the old map was FFA at it's best - I know that server by its map, and have many good memories from it. 8)

I love the new part of your map. but I voted against it. It is very difficult if not impossable to view the radar . Why not have 2 seperate maps. Maybe go through a portal that throws you into the new map. Kitty :)

There IS a portal that takes you to the next map isn't there? I use it to get up there in the first place.

I'm thinking of bringing the new level online as its own map... maybe lower in elevation, in case you were wondering.

hi,

it's hard. I really love the new map, becaus of the high jumping stuffs.. its so fun... and the new wing-battles, too. Its very good that gm camping is not so favourably, and i think gm camping is the biggest exceptional of the game =)

but i also agree, that the new map is boring with only 5 players. In the old map u were able to fight one person the whole time, on the new map u not often reach the person.

So i'm still for the new map, cause its more fun, when there are more people. I think you should give the new map more time, until u all like it =)

but maybe you can built a map with 1 1/2 levels, so that there is still a higher level but its very small and maybe more connectet with the ground, a three nice building there, where u allways can go from the highest point of the map now.

okay.. now i'll go loosing again on the old map =( i'm sorry about my english, but i hope some people can understand me.....

bye bye BONSAI

Hmm. I have mixed feelings.

I prefer a fast paced game of BZ, so obviously there needs to be a lot of people signed in since the map is so HUGE with the 2nd level.
Dont get me wrong I love what you did to the place but those times where its a slow day the map will be waaaay too much.

I accidentally voted for it (stupid BT keyboard) but meant to vote against it after much thought.
I would love to see it again, just not as a replacement to the current map we've all come to love :)

The second level isn't really that fun actually now that I think about it...Maybe even another version to wrap it all up.
