Where is the download for the map maker for Linux?? There's no "you will need to download this in order to make maps"[/i]

Currently there is no "official" mapmaker for Linux. You can either hand-code them in a text editor and test them out with BZFS (see: http://bzflag.org/wiki/MapMaking ) or try BZFed ( www.bzfed.org ), but it seems BZFed it no longer maintained... (can't get to web-site... ?!) maybe someone with the source can post it here. :)

P.S.: There is another 2D Java-based editor, but I forget it's name.

there is also the blender plugin that lets you make and edit maps in the cross platform modeler "blender".
