Map in Progress-Scales of CTF

Post by Destroyer1313 »

Ah, been working on this for a while... I would like some expert opinion
about my map. I think its a great start, but it needs more. Any
tips, suggestions, criticism, opinions, yada yada, ect. ect.
Here is map and screenie. I must let you know, I had to resize it because of its huge size. Anyways, here it is.
Dormant. Not really. Kinda.

Yeah, that is interesting only are you going to have flags? On the ground level it's to deserted I think.

Yes, it will have flags. Im putting a little bit more in the triangle
areas to help people get by the snipers in the center. I've
updated it a little. I put a few boxes on the end to make a little barrier
for the people on the corners.

It looks to be a nice map. Will you add something you can't find in the other maps to make this one "special" so people won't leave it after two weeks like many other maps?

Hmm, I can try. It's probably going to take a while, though.
OK, I think I got it.

Hey, its still under construction, not done yet. But, its your opinion.

I would put some kind of box-system, possibly very different locations, almost random. not really large sized, like 5*3*8
Games don't make people violent, lag does.

Yes, I was thinking of putting something like that in there.

OK, I think I have found how to make this map unique.
On boxy war, you have choices. Like grabbing a laser
and frying everything that moves, or getting a CL
and messing with noobs. Or, go for the G flag.
Or get a SW. So many choices. My map has 3 choices.
You can cap, or snipe in the towers, or brawl on the ground.
Not much. I'm going to radically redesign the map,
starting with the lower ground. Get more player choices in
so this can be a very interesting and fun map!
So, accepting suggestions on what you'd like in the map.
I'm thinking I need a better sig than this...

I like it! It's got a nice base setup and stuff!

Suggestions/ideas:

1. Platforms in between the floating pyramid diamonds, maybe?
2. More stuff to hide behind or jump on on the ground level?

Looking good.

Like I (ahem) posted, I'm radically changing some aspects of the map,
like the ground. The center scales, though, Im keeping.
Ill keep your suggestion in mind.

OK. A little enhancement to the platforms sticking out of
the center, and some alternate spawn areas. (corners) And some
boxes on the ground, though Im thinking about
rotating the boxes so they make a pinwheel shape.

1. Platforms in between the floating pyramid diamonds, maybe?
Hmm, I dont think that would work, because then opposing team
can keep jumping on those platforms, capping.
But, the sniper towers could stop that.

Here are pics.

Looks awesome! Keep up the good work.

No, I wasn't criticizing you...just giving some ideas, if you wanted. Apparantly not, but great job!

OK, I am REALLY liking how it's pulling together. I spun
some of the boxes on the ground, and for the other cells
I added some pyramids. And some pyramids at the very ends of the map
will be conveyor belts, once everything is completed.

Some Screenies of what I have down so far.

OK, hopefully this is the last update, then I can release it.
I added some platforms to the center and they lead up to
the bases. set at such a height that every platform should
take a jump to get to. Maybe add sommore stuff to
the platforms sticking out, but I think its good for
now. Whaddya think?
